Cosa significa 'hoor' in olandese?
Hoor è la parolina più amichevole dell’olandese. Messa alla fine di una frase breve, addolcisce, rassicura o segnala “non preoccuparti” — Ja, hoor (sì, certo), nee, hoor (oh, non serve), graag, hoor (volentieri, davvero). Non si traduce in inglese con una sola parola, e chi impara l’olandese dall’inglese spesso la salta; i madrelingua notano subito la mancanza.
Questo clip di chiacchiere da ufficio è pieno di hoor: « Nee, hoor. Zwart is prima » (non serve, il caffè nero va bene), « Ja, hoor » (sì, d’accordo), « Ja, gezellig » con la stessa calda familiarità. Hoor trasforma scambi secchi tra colleghi in qualcosa di compagno.
